Christmas Decorating - CANCELED

UPDATE: the church will be in use for a funeral at this time. Volunteers will decorate the church at different times through the weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience.

WANTED: CHRISTMAS DECORATORS

We will meet Saturday, Dec. 22 after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. All are invited – young and old. We especially want people who’ve helped in the past so they can show the new people what needs to be done. It’s a good way to meet other parishioners, and Christmas at St. Joseph’s will be a wonderful experience!

BLUE CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

Church of the Holy Trinity, Westfield, N.J.

The Christmas Season can be a sad time for some. The longest night of the year, the winter solstice, brings great darkness to earth. As the days grow shorter, we feel the darkness growing deeper around us. We need the warmth of a loving community gathered in prayer that points to God’s presence for those who mourn the death of a loved one, who struggle with financial concerns and unemployment, with physical or mental health issues, with cancer and depression, who wrestle with addictions, who are victims of violence, those with broken relationships, who are hungry, homeless and doubtful.

The Blue Christmas Service is an evening of prayer, scripture and music reminding all that the Word of God comes to shine light into our darkness. Everyone, regardless of church background (or lack of it), is welcome. Light refreshments will be served following. The Church of the Holy Trinity is located at 512 Westfield Avenue, Westfield.
