Gaudete Sunday & Health Update

Dear Parishioners,

Today we celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent or as it is known; "Gaudete Sunday" or Rejoice Sunday. Today our Vestments change for this Sunday to Rose Colored. It is a time for us to begin to rejoice because Christmas is almost here. Saint Paul in our Second reading says it best Rejoice Always! He even reminds in these final days of Advent what we should be doing "Pray without ceasing" and "Do not quench the spirit of God!" Sometimes we get so caught up in doing all the little things that we forget to prepare ourselves. An opportunity is before us all this week. On Wednesday, with our New Energies Partner, Our Lady of Lourdes, we will be hearing confessions here in our Church from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. This is the perfect opportunity for all of us to take a moment from our busy schedules and take a moment for ourselves to listen to the Spirit of God calling us to him. Come and spend time with God. Don't wait till the last minute!! Come and prepare your hearts and souls for Christmas so this way you can truly REJOICE at the Birth of Christ. May God Bless you all and Saint Joseph pray for us.

Well I'm back! Never did I expect all this to happen! But thanks to a great Staff and resident Priests all was covered and was run smoothly! Yes I did have a Stroke. In fact it was a stroke on one side of the brain and a mini stroke on the other. Both were on the back of the brain and affected my vision. The Neurologist told me it will eventually correct itself but it will not be 100%. It was not caused by the usual suspects, my heart or blood vessels, all those tests came back negative. The other options are the cancer itself or a blood disease that causes clots. For now I am fine, just taking it easy, and trying to get ready for Christmas. Thank you all for your prayers know I am praying for you!
