New Beginnings

From the Pastor’s Desk

Dear Parishioners,

We're two months into the season of spring and one month away from summer. At this time of year, the weather gets warmer, the trees are full with green leaves and flowers are budding. Many new beginnings take place at this time of year.

It is the same way for the church. Today in the Catholic Church we celebrate Pentecost Sunday. The church recognizes this as the completion of Christ's work through the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles that gave birth to the church. On Pentecost, the Catholic Church also celebrates a new beginning.

Throughout the season of Easter, we celebrated Jesus' resurrection, which gained for us the gift of eternal life. On Pentecost, we celebrate the birthday of the church and the Holy Spirit coming to guide us. Let's continue to celebrate God's love for us by returning our love for Him. By doing this, we prepare ourselves to receive the greatest of new beginnings, the gift of eternal life.

Sincerely in Christ,
Father Dominick
