Humility

Dear Parishioners,

It's the last weekend in August and we're preparing for the end of summer. We had a little bit of a break in the very hot weather this past week, giving us signs that Fall is near.

Students will be going back to school and many of us will be finishing vacation and returning to work. Everyone will be discussing their vacations with one another while looking back and enjoying the memory of the summer.

As we come together again with co-workers and friends, we can enjoy the time with one another. In today's gospel, Jesus speaks to us about love and humility. Jesus teaches to love our neighbor as ourself. When he tells us in the gospel about sitting at the lower end of the table, he's teaching us humility, loving our neighbor as ourselves.

So as we're looking ahead towards the summer coming to an end, let's keep in mind what Jesus teaches us. In all of our relationships with one another, we can love our neighbor as ourself.

Sincerely in Christ,

Father Dominick
