April 1 Updates

At Greek Easter, the family gathers around the table and sings: “Christos Anesti, ek nehron, thanato, thanaton pastisas, kai tis entis minimasi zoin harisamenos,” which translates, “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling death by death, and to those in tombs, granting life.”

The lyrics of this ancient hymn recall the message spoken by the angel to Mary Magdalene at the tomb – “Christ is risen!” They also refer to the moment of Jesus’s death when the earth quaked and opened, and bodies of believers were miraculously raised to eternal life.

Both the hymn and the expression “Christos Anesti” remind us that all who are faithful will one day be raised from death to eternal life through our belief in Christ. This is the core of our belief – the joy-filled promise of Easter. Rejoice all. “Christos Anesti!”

Mar 11 Updates

What a glorious weekend we have coming up! We celebrate two men whose names are quite familiar too us: Patrick, who left his homeland to travel to a rough pagan land in order to teach about the great love that Jesus has for us, and Joseph, patron of the Universal Church as well as our own parish.

Joseph dedicated himself to caring for and protecting both Mary and Jesus. They serve as perfect examples for us as how we should live our lives – being examples of Jesus’s love for others and caring for each other. Think of them as you celebrate the weekend.

Reminder: There are no classes Sunday, March 18 due to our first St. Patrick /St. Joseph Day celebration.

Easter Egg Hunt coming soon! Saturday, March 24, 10 a.m. starting in the Parish Center. Children PreK through 4th grade are invited. Mark your calendars.
