Our Confirmation candidates begin their final preparation for Confirmation today. Please pray for them as they approach the sacrament on Nov. 11.

There is a Parent Meeting today for those whose children will be receiving First Reconciliation in December following the 9:15 Family Mass.

Our Confirmation Retreat will begin at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Oct. 21. Following the Mass, Confirmandi, parents and sponsors will meet in the Parish Center. Our guest speaker will be Ray Boswell, a noted retreat master.

Bible Study: As we complete our discussion of Pope Francis’ consideration of various pieties by which we can grow closer to Christ, we look forward to our next endeavor – exploring the document “Dei Verbam,” the exhortation and mandate for the study of Sacred Scripture. If John XXIII threw open the doors of the church to a new understanding of what “church” means, Paul VI gave us the freedom to visit the Word of the Lord in its written form. Join us Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. in Glover Hall for a six-week exploration of this significant moment in the church’s understanding of Sacred Scripture.
